.DISCUSSION...
Increasing clouds are expected today. High temperatures will range
from the upper 70s in far northwestern South Dakota to around 90
over far southwest into south-central South Dakota. Minimum
afternoon relative humidities will be 15-30%. A cold front will
bisect the area with northwest winds at 15-25 MPH behind it (far
western South Dakota) and south winds at 15-30 MPH ahead of it
(south-central South Dakota).

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the moderate category
this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering
moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on
the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Wednesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category to moderate category.
