.DISCUSSION...
After areas of morning fog, mostly sunny skies are expected across
the region late morning through the early afternoon. There is a
slight chance for showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon,
mainly near the Black Hills. Storm chances expand to northwestern
SD overnight. Winds today will be out of the southeast at 10 to
20 mph over western SD, with lighter east to northeast winds over
south central SD.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Friday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
