616 FNUS63 KUNR 040906 RFDUNR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Rapid City SD 306 AM MDT Fri Oct 4 2024 .DISCUSSION...Warm, dry, and breezy to windy conditions are expected today and tomorrow over much of western and central South Dakota, leading to widespread very high to extreme grassland fire danger. South winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph will develop today over most of the western and central South Dakota plains, with relatively weaker winds over the northern foothills. A cold front will cross the region tonight into early tomorrow morning, bringing strong northwest winds sustained at 25 to 35 mph and gusting to 45 mph or greater. Meanwhile, afternoon relative humidity values will range from 15 to 25 percent each day.
