.DISCUSSION...Partly cloudy and mild today. Afternoon highs will
range from 50 to 60 degrees with minimum humidities dropping to
25 to 30% across the foothills into southwestern and south central
South Dakota and to 30 to 50% across northwester South Dakota.
Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 mph.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this
afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread.
Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning
or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the
relative humidity is higher.

The outlook for Saturday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the high category to very high category.
