Rangeland Fire Danger Statement

.DISCUSSION...Skies will be mostly cloudy today with high
temperatures ranging from the upper 20s to the mid 30s. Minimum
relative humidity will range from 40 to 70 percent as a weather
system brings snow to southern parts of the area. A strong cold
front will produce northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
40 mph this afternoon.

...HIGH FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the high category this
afternoon. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread.
Outdoor burning should be restricted to early morning
or evening hours when wind speeds are usually lower and the
relative humidity is higher.

The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category to moderate category.

this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering
moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on
the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.
