.DISCUSSION...Showers and thunderstorms are approaching Newcastle
from the west, and should reach Newcastle around 8 or 9 PM. The main
threat with these storms will be strong winds. The strongest storm
is currently well to the north of Newcastle and headed east, so at
this time there is no severe weather headed to Newcastle. However,
there remains the potential for storms to become severe this evening,
and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 9 PM. Most
of the storms should be east of Newcastle by midnight, but there is
still a chance for showers or weak storms to develop overnight.
Sunday looks mainly dry, but there is another chance for showers
and storms in the evening.
