.DISCUSSION...
A surface trough will move through the area today shifting winds
to the north to northwest. Minimum relative humidities this
afternoon will dip into the teens over parts of northeastern
Wyoming and far southwestern South Dakota with some 20s over
northwest into southern South Dakota. A cold front will move
through tonight with a chance of showers and embedded
thunderstorms, mainly from northwest into south-central South
Dakota.
A dry cold front will move through Thursday. Minimum relative
humidities will dip into the 20s with gusty northwest winds
potentially exceeding 40mph (40-90% chance western SD plains).
Elevated fire danger is expected, especially for the fine fuels
of the grasslands.
Cooler weather Friday will be replaced by a seasonal warming trend
for the weekend into early next week with minimal chances for
precipitation.
