.DISCUSSION... Widespread elevated fire weather conditions are likely
across the western SD plains this afternoon. Temperatures this
afternoon will climb into the upper 60s with minimum RHs dropping
to 15 to 25% across much of the western SD plains. The stronger
winds will be displaced to the west of the driest conditions,
which should keep critical fire weather conditions from
developing. Scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm
are also possible this afternoon as a weak front crosses the
region.
Temperatures across the western SD plains Monday afternoon will
climb into the 70s. Elevated fire wx conditions are likely across
south central SD as RHs drop below 20% and southerly winds pick up
ahead of a front (15 to 20 mph, gusting to 25 to 30 mph). A cold
front crossing the region Monday afternoon will bring a wind shift
to the west and a chance for showers and a few thunderstorms.
Unsettled weather expected for the latter half of the week with
occasional chances for light precip.
