Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Tucson AZ
1231 PM MST Thu Jun 5 2025

.SYNOPSIS...Dry and hot weather will be in store for southeast
Arizona through next week. Near normal temperatures this afternoon,
warming to 2 to 6 degrees above normal this weekend and next week.
Tucson will flirt with 105 degrees Sunday and Monday.

&&

.DISCUSSION...Sunny skies currently across southeast Arizona with
just a few cumulus clouds to the north of Tucson. Residual troughing
will be giving way to stronger ridging over the upcoming weekend
into early next week. This is resulting in increasing heights and
thicknesses with continued west to southwest flow aloft as the high
remains centered well to our southeast. Temperatures this afternoon
will be right about normal for this time of year. Highs will
continue to warm over the next few days, peaking around Sunday and
Monday with highs near 105 in Tucson. These levels are generally
around 3 to 6 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Thereafter, no real significant change as temperatures drop a couple
of degrees by the middle of next week as the high relocates in the
eastern Pacific off the western Baja peninsula. Expect typical
afternoon breezes through the forecast period with some afternoon
gusts around 20 mph.

&&

.AVIATION...Valid through 07/00Z.
SKC thru the period. Sfc winds westerly-southwesterly 8-12 kts with
gusts around 20 kts thru 06/03Z and once again aft 06/18Z.
Otherwise, winds variable at 10 kts or less. Aviation discussion not
updated for TAF amendments.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...20-foot winds will be 15 mph or less into next
week with occasional afternoon gusts around 20 mph. A drying and
warming trend continues through the weekend into next week. Min RH
will be back in the single digits into next week with the exception
of a few mountain peaks that will be closer around or slightly above
10 percent.

&&

.TWC WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
