I would suggest that with regards to the weather over the next 7-days across Southeast Arizona, it is not only beautiful...but something to sought after, envied by many. The upper pattern this afternoon is defined by a broad subtropical ridge extending across northern Mexico and Gulf states, a trough spinning up in the Gulf of Alaska and extensive westerly/zonal flow across our neck of the woods. The upper trough is progged to open up the next few days, allowing for ridging to establish itself across the Eastern Pacific. This ridge will then amplify this weekend as it tracks into the Western states early next week. What does all of this mean for Southeast Arizona? Well...we will remain unseasonably warm over the next week with occasional patches of cirrus moving through from time-to-time. The amplified flow will spice things up this weekend by shoving a surface high moving through the southern Rockies south into southern New Mexico. This will result in a breezy easterly flow for Southeast Arizona both Sunday and Monday. Otherwise, as mentioned in the previous forecast discussion...overnight lows will remain mild although some eastern valleys, like Sulphur Springs, will continue to see lows in the mid to upper 30s. && .AVIATION...Valid through 05/12Z. SKC to SCT cirrus clouds AOA 20k ft AGL. SFC winds terrain and diurnally driven less than 12 kts. Aviation Discussion Not Updated for TAF Amendments. && .FIRE WEATHER...Dry and unseasonably warm conditions for the next week with afternoon high temperatures generally 4 to 9 degrees above normal. Minimum RH values over the next week will remain in the 12-22 percent range. && .TWC WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...None. && $$ Visit us on Facebook...Twitter...YouTube...and at weather.gov/Tucson
