438 FNUS64 KTSA 180647 RFDTSA ARZ001-010-OKZ054>070-190000- Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Tulsa OK 147 AM CDT Fri Oct 18 2024 ...ELEVATED TO NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON FOR PARTS OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND FAR NORTHWEST ARKANSAS... Grassland fire spread potential will increase again this afternoon, especially in areas north of Interstate 40 in northeast Oklahoma, and in Benton and Washington counties in northwest Arkansas. South winds will gust at 20 to 25 mph at times during the afternoon, with minimum relative humidities falling between 20 to 25 percent. Fine fuels and brush have become drought-stressed and increasingly receptive to ignition. This afternoon`s weather conditions will promote rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor activities that could inadvertently start a fire, including disposing of cigarettes properly. Report any wildfires to local officials. Additionally, burn bans are in effect for Washington, Craig, Mayes, Ottawa, Adair, Delaware, Pushmataha and Choctaw counties in eastern Oklahoma, along with all of western Arkansas. $$
