Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Tulsa OK
1219 PM CST Fri Feb 27 2026

...ELEVATED TO LOCALLY NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...

Elevated to locally near critical fire weather conditions will
develop Friday afternoon across portions of eastern Oklahoma and
far northwest Arkansas.

South to southwest winds from 10 to 20 miles an hour, with gusts
to 25 miles an hour, will occur Friday afternoon. Additionally,
near record temperatures will continue along with very dry
afternoon humidity values of 15 to 25 percent. The combination of
the warm temperatures, low humidities, and gusty winds will be
sufficient to raise the fire weather concerns. Elevated to locally
near critical grassland fire spread rates are forecast.

Avoid outdoor activities that could inadvertently start a fire,
including disposing of cigarettes properly. Report any wildfires
to local officials.
