This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
RISK...Isolated.
AREA...Western Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing Through Sunset.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Elevated.
AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat conditions with heat index values of 100 to 110
degrees will remain common across most of eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas into this evening. Conditions slowly improve
through the evening hours.

Also late this afternoon, an isolated shower and storm potential
will exist across mainly portions of western Arkansas through
sunset. Brief heavy rainfall and gusty winds are capable within
any thunderstorm development. Any development should weaken and
dissipate this evening with the loss of daytime heating.

SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat

FRIDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions continue through Tuesday with daily max
heat index values of 100 to 110 degrees for most locations. A few
showers and storms will also be possible for portions of the area
each afternoon Sunday and Monday. Shower and storm chances
increase Tuesday into Wednesday across eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas, with the greater potential Tuesday night and
Wednesday as a frontal boundary tries to move into the region.
Isolated severe potentials could develop with the front Wednesday.
Cooler temperatures are forecast for the second half of next
week.
