Widely scattered thunderstorms are ongoing across portions of
western Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma, as well as areas west of
Highway 75 in northeast and east central Oklahoma. The strongest
storms will produce strong wind gusts, possibly marginally severe
at times, and brief heavy rainfall. These storms should diminish
through sunset. A low chance of additional storms north and west
of Interstate 44 in northeast Oklahoma will exist after midnight.

Widespread triple digit heat index values continue across most of
eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, with values above 105
remaining common. Expect the heat and humidity to improve toward
sunset.

FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat will continue on Tuesday ahead of weak cold
front which will move across the region late Tuesday through
Thursday. Thunderstorm chances will increase as the front
slowly passes with isolated heavy rainfall amounts possible.
Locally damaging winds may also be a concern with storms Tuesday
afternoon and evening, as well as late Wednesday. Slightly cooler
temperatures will follow the cold front, with drier weather
expected by late week.
