Widespread heat and humidity will return to parts of the area Thursday and most locations by Friday and continue into early next week. Heat index values around 105 degrees are forecast in much of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, and heat headlines may become necessary. Daily thunderstorm chances will mainly focus across the higher terrain areas of southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas during the afternoon hours into early next week.
