This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as much of Eastern Oklahoma. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight. POOR VISIBILITY. RISK...Significant. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest and West Central Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing Through Mid Morning. FIRE WEATHER DANGER. RISK...Limited. AREA...West of Highway 75 in Northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Midday. DISCUSSION... Dense fog is ongoing this morning across most of eastern Oklahoma and northwest and west central Arkansas, with visibilities of a quarter mile or less, especially along and north of Interstate 40. Visibilities are expected to improve by mid morning. Expect fog impacts to motorists, including during the morning commute. Fog is expected to redevelop after midnight tonight in most of the area, some of which may be locally dense. In addition to the fog, a localized uptick in fire spread potential is expected in parts of northeast Oklahoma west of Highway 75 this afternoon due to increasing west to northwesterly winds. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. SATURDAY...Dense Fog and High Wind Potential. SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...No Hazards. WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm and High Wind Potential. THURSDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... The fog that is expected to develop late tonight should continue into the post sunrise hours Saturday morning, with improving visibilities mid to late morning. Well above normal temperatures and dry weather can be expected for the weekend and into next week.
