much of Eastern Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat continues areawide today, with afternoon heat
indices between 105 and 115 expected. The highest numbers are
expected across eastern Oklahoma and west-central Arkansas. An
Extreme Heat Warning and Heat Advisory remain in effect through
tonight. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms are possible
this afternoon, mainly from central Oklahoma into the higher
terrain of southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Any
thunderstorms may produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY...Dangerous Heat Potential.
EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Dangerous to very dangerous heat will persist into Wednesday,
again with afternoon heat indices in the 105 to 115 degree range.
A front is expected to focus isolated to widely scattered
thunderstorms by late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night,
mainly across northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. These
storms will carry a limited severe weather risk.
The front will take the edge off the heat for Thursday across the
north and Friday areawide, though afternoon heat indices will
still top triple digits in most places. Dangerous heat will
return over the weekend into the following week areawide, with low
chances for mainly afternoon storms.
