AREA...West of Highway 75 and South of U.S. Highway 412 in Northeast Oklahoma. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... South to southeast winds gusting 20 to 25 mph this afternoon will continue this afternoon over northeast Oklahoma as temperatures climb well above average for this time of year. The warm and breezy conditions are more supportive of limited grassland fire spread, especially in parts of northeast Oklahoma to the west of Highway 75 and south of Highway 412 where it has been a month since appreciable rainfall has fallen. Fire weather concerns should improve this evening as humidity level begin to recover and winds weaken. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. SUNDAY...High Wind Potential. MONDAY AND TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Warm and breezy conditions are expected again on Sunday afternoon, especially to the west of Tulsa. These conditions will raise fire weather concerns, especially west of Highway 75 and south of Highway 412. Isolated afternoon pop-up thunderstorms are forecast Monday afternoon, primarily over far eastern Oklahoma into western Arkansas. A frontal boundary will bring low chances for rain showers to northeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas Monday night. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue Tuesday with the greater potential over southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas before the boundary exits Tuesday evening. Severe weather is not expected, but gusty winds and locally heavy downpours will accompany storms that develop. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information. $$
