THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. RISK...Limited. AREA...Near the Oklahoma, Kansas border. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... A broken line of showers and isolated thunderstorms continues to move southward across southern Kansas this afternoon. This activity is expected to gradually weaken, however an isolated storm or two will be possible the rest of this afternoon in northeast Oklahoma close to the Kansas border. The main hazard will be cloud-to-ground lightning. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. SATURDAY...No Hazards. SUNDAY...High Wind Potential. MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Southerly winds gusting 15 to 30 mph are forecast Sunday, with the higher gusts expected over northeast Oklahoma. These winds combined with continued warm temperatures and developing drought conditions will increase grassland fire weather concerns for portions of northeast Oklahoma Sunday afternoon. Area of greater concern continues to be along and west of Highway 75 in northeast Oklahoma, where afternoon minimum relative humidity values are forecast in the 25 to 35 percent range. Low rain chances remain forecast Monday for parts of northeast Oklahoma as a weak cold front moves into the region.
