This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...Significant.

ONSET...Ongoing.

 AREA AT GREATEST RISK...West-Central Arkansas.

DISCUSSION...
Widespread dangerous heat continues today, with the hottest
conditions across west-central Arkansas. Afternoon heat indices
will reach 105-113F for all areas. A few isolated storms will pop
up this afternoon, mainly over the higher terrain of far eastern
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. A few additional storms will form
near a cold front tonight in northeast OK. This front will bring
cooler air into the area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
FRIDAY TO MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
TUESDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Hot conditions continue Thursday, though mainly south of I-40 with
scattered storms throughout the area, especially in the afternoon.
Cooler air continues to move in with highs in the 80s Friday to
Saturday. Scattered storms will persist at times through Monday,
with the main affects being gusty winds, brief heavy rain, and
lightning. Severe weather is not anticipated. Heat will begin to
build back in by the middle of next week.
