This Outlook is for Northwest and West Central Arkansas as well as
much of Eastern Oklahoma.

THUNDERSTORMS WITH DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.
RISK...Limited.
AREA...Portions of eastern OK and northwest AR.
ONSET...This afternoon.

DANGEROUS HEAT.

AREA...Areawide.
ONSET...Ongoing.

DISCUSSION...
Widespread dangerous heat continues today, with heat indices of
105-110 F for most areas this afternoon. A few showers and
thunderstorms may develop the next few hours. The most likely
locations will be for south-central OK and the higher terrain of
eastern OK/northwest AR. Any storms will diminish by sundown. The
impacts include brief heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

MONDAY TO WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Dangerous Heat Potential.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
FRIDAY TO SATURDAY...No Hazards.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Afternoon storms are again expected Monday, with mostly limited
impacts. Very hot conditions continue areawide through Tuesday,
and then for southern portions of the area on Wednesday. A cold
front late Tuesday into Wednesday will gradually bring cooler air
into the area. Temperatures will then remain cooler than normal
into next weekend. Rain and thunderstorm chances will ramp up late
Tuesday into Thursday morning. A few storms may have marginally
severe wind gusts and heavy rainfall leading to localized flash
flooding.
