DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms may develop across parts of northeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas today, with storm chances
increasing this evening and overnight. A few of the storms may
produce damaging downburst winds this afternoon and evening,
mainly north of Highway 412. Locally heavy rainfall will also be
possible due to slow storm motions.

Heat index values will climb into the 100 to 105 degree range
across much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas this
afternoon.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will spread south across much of the area
Monday into Monday evening as a weak cold front drifts south
through the area. Damaging downburst winds and locally heavy
rainfall will be the main threats with the storms. Afternoon heat
index values will again climb into the 100 to 105 degree range.

Storm coverage will lessen Tuesday through the rest of the week,
but isolated storms may still occur each afternoon.
