.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures in the upper 90s to lower 100s persist through this
afternoon, with coolest temperatures on the ridge top. Showers
and thunderstorms have developed in the vicinity this afternoon
and will have potential to produce cloud-to-ground lightning and
erratic, strong wind gusts. Storms to the southwest, in Pushmataha
county, have become strong as of 3 PM and are likely producing
wind gusts in excess of 50 mph. Low potential for wind gusts of
this magnitude will continue through 6 PM with any strong storm
that develops near the spot location. With time, storm coverage is
likely to decrease, especially by sunset. Outside of thunderstorm
influence, light southeast winds will persist through this
evening and into tonight with a low temperature in the low-mid
70s. Minimum relative humidity values between 30 and 40 percent
this afternoon will recover to near or above 70 percent overnight.
Weather conditions Tuesday will be similar with a high
temperature near 100 and light south-southeast winds. A slight
chance of thunderstorms develops again during the afternoon,
though coverage should be less than today. Locally gusty winds
will continue to be a concern with storms Tuesday.
