.DISCUSSION... Unseasonably hot and predominantly dry weather
will continue through early this week. Spotty afternoon showers
and thunderstorms are expected Monday and Tuesday, but rainfall
will be brief and will not impact recent drought trends. Periods
of breezy and gusty winds will locally raise fire weather
concerns, especially across northeast Oklahoma where winds will
likely be breeziest during the afternoons. Locally gusty winds
are also possible near any thunderstorms early this week.
Increased fire weather concerns also continue for southeast
Oklahoma with ongoing drought conditions and localized gusty
winds. County level burn bans are ongoing across the region. Rain
potential increases areawide by mid to late week as a cold front
influences the area.
