.DISCUSSION...
Elevated to near critical grassland fire spread rates are forecast
today for parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, where
southerly winds gusting 20 to 25 mph and minimum relative
humidities from 20 to 25 percent are expected. Although dry
conditions will extend into the weekend, lower daytime wind
speeds should limit the overall fire weather concerns. An upper
level storm system will move through the Central Plains early next
week, bringing low rain chances to parts of northeast Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas. Wetting rains appear unlikely at this time.
