.DISCUSSION... Unseasonably hot and mainly dry weather will
continue through the next week. Spotty afternoon and evening
showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday and Monday, but
rainfall will be brief and will not impact recent drought trends.
Periods of breezy and gusty winds will locally raise fire weather
concerns, especially across northeast Oklahoma where winds will
likely be breeziest during the afternoons. Locally gusty winds
are also possible near any thunderstorms early this week. Locally
higher fire weather concerns also continue for southeast Oklahoma
with ongoing drought conditions and localized gusty winds. County
level burn bans are ongoing across the region.
