.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and storms linger into the morning hours
before becoming dry this afternoon. Cannot rule out an isolated
storm over far eastern Kansas this afternoon, but otherwise dry conditions
through Tuesday. Highs heat into the upper 80s and lower 90s
while min RH values fall between 50 and 70 percent. Max heat
indices range from 96 to 104 degrees, highest over east central
Kansas. Transport winds are generally around 10 mph in the
afternoon, improving to near 20 mph on Sunday afternoon with
gusts over 20 mph.
Dangerous heat anticipated Sunday into early next week with
max heat indices from 105 to 110 degrees each afternoon. Storm
chances return late Tuesday evening, increasing Wednesday-Friday
as a cold front enters the region. Cooler temps are anticipated
Thursday onward.
