...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing.

* WHERE...Portions of central and north central Kansas, including
  the following counties, in central Kansas, Dickinson. In north
  central Kansas, Ottawa.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1201 PM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already
    occurring. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Abilene, Herington, Minneapolis, Chapman, Solomon,
    Enterprise, Bennington, Hope, Delphos, Tescott, Woodbine,
    Culver, Wells, Manchester, Carlton, Niles, Talmage, Moonlight
    and Ada.
  - This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 267 and 289.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
