...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...Portions of Dickinson, Geary and Morris counties.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It
  will take several hours for all the water from these storms to
  work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1209 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to earlier thunderstorms. Flooding
    is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 4
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Junction City, Abilene, Grandview Plaza, Chapman, Solomon,
    Enterprise, White City, Woodbine, Latimer and Moonlight.
  - This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 267 and 300.
    This will replace the flash flood warnings set to expire at
    12:15 AM CDT.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
