REMARKS...

THREE STRONG STORM SYSTEMS BROUGHT PLENTY OF WIND BUT NOT MUCH IN
THE WAY OF PRECIPITATION. DESPITE THESE SYSTEMS...THE MONTH WAS
QUITE WARM OVERALL...TYING AS THE NINTH-WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD. THE
FIRST SYSTEM WAS ON MARCH 4 AND 5. RAIN TURNED TO SNOW LATE ON MARCH
4 WITH NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AS WINDS GUSTED TO 56 MPH DURING THE
SNOW. THE HIGHEST GUST OF 64 MPH OCCURRED AS THE SNOW WAS ENDING
EARLY ON MARCH 5. A TOTAL OF 1.2 INCHES OF SNOW FELL ALONG WITH 0.92
INCHES OF TOTAL PRECIPITATION...NEARLY THE ENTIRE TOTAL FOR MARCH.
THE SECOND SYSTEM CAME ON MARCH 14 WITH SOUTH WINDS GUSTING TO 62
MPH RESULTING IN FALLEN TREES AND POWER LINES IN PORTIONS OF THE
CITY. THE FINAL SYSTEM WAS ON MARCH 19. SOUTH WINDS GUSTED TO 47 MPH
WITH 70 DEGREE TEMPERATURES IN THE PREDAWN HOURS. TEMPERATURES FELL
INTO THE LOWER 30S BY LATE AFTERNOON WITH 52 MPH NORTH WINDS AND
LIGHT SNOW.
