At 500 PM, an area of steady rain extends from Teton County east
through northern Cascade and southwest Chouteau counties and is
lifting north at around 30 mph. A brief period of gusty winds up
to 40 mph and locally short periods of moderate to heavy rainfall
are occurring locally within this area of precipitation, which is
expected to continue lifting northward across western portions of
north-central Montana, reaching areas near the Canadian border by
around 800 PM.
