Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
208 AM MDT Fri Oct 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

An active pattern is expected across the Northern Rockies through
the weekend, with strong and gusty southwest to west winds and
several opportunities for precipitation, especially in the mountains
of the Continental Divide. The strongest period of winds will
occur on Sunday as a potent upper level shortwave and Pacific
front sweeps east across the Northern Rockies, with this
disturbance also bringing the best opportunity for accumulating
snow to the mountains. Temperatures will be near to above normal
through the weekend and much of next week as winds remain gusty. -
