Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
154 AM MDT Sun Sep 6 2026

...Periods of rain Sunday through Labor Day over North Central MT...

Periods of rain are expected to begin on Sunday along the Rocky
Mountain Front and then spread eastward out over the plains of North
Central MT by Sunday night.

Overall, total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be common over
North Central MT from Sunday through Monday, including the east side
of Glacier Park. There is a 10 percent chance of rainfall amounts up
to 4 inches, generally across an area along and west of Interstate 15
north of Great Falls.

At this time no significant flooding is expected. However, in areas
that do receive closer to 3 inches or more of rainfall, some minor
field or small stream flooding can not be ruled out. Additionally,
some rocks could wash down on to roadways near mountains.

Those planning outdoor activities over the next few days should be
prepared for periods of rain.
