The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay Ruskin has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Pinellas County in west central Florida...

* Until midnight EDT tonight.

* At 1052 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain showers continued
  across southwest Pinellas county. Between 5 and 9 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing.  Although
  conditions are improving, it will take time for the water to drain
  from flooded roadways.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by showers and thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and public reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Seminole, St. Petersburg, St. Pete Beach, Bay Pines, Tierra Verde,
  Gulfport, Treasure Island, South Pasadena, Madeira Beach,
  Redington Shores, Redington Beach, Indian Shores, North Redington
  Beach and Pass-A-Grille Beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
