436 FXUS62 KTBW 121218 AFDTBW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 718 AM EST Wed Feb 12 2025 ...New AVIATION... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 306 AM EST Wed Feb 12 2025 High pressure will continue to dominate through Thursday, keeping warm and humid conditions while it lingers. High temperatures will be well above normal for this time of year, with some areas reaching close to 90. A transition is on the horizon, though as a cold front will move into north Florida Thursday afternoon. Chance of showers increases slightly as the front moves through, mainly for the nature coast. This particular cold front will be weak and only drop afternoon highs Friday afternoon by a couple of degrees. A surface high will briefly move back in Friday, but will be booted out to the Atlantic as another storm system develops and moves over the eastern US. This particular system will bring a stronger cold front to the area Sunday, with shower activity expected to be more widespread. Behind this next front, cooler, drier air will filter in dropping high temperatures back into the upper 60 to mid 70s. The temperatures rebound to just above normal once again by mid week. However, the roller coaster of temperatures continues as a an even stronger cold front is expected by the end of next week and low temperatures could dip back into the 40s for some areas maybe even a few norther areas dropping back into the upper 30s. Winter is determined to make a few more appearances here in Florida before leaving for good. && .AVIATION...
