Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
1142 AM EDT Tue Jul 22 2025

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

Lighter westerly winds today should result in a moderate rip current
risk for all area beaches except the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park
beaches. Surf will be around 2 feet on Panhandle beaches and around 1
foot for St. George Island. There is a longer period swell that may
impact Walton County beaches this afternoon, and it would not be
surprising if there is a locally higher risk there today. Otherwise,
winds become more southerly later in the week, which may result in an
increasing rip current risk heading into late week or this weekend.

Based on communication with area beach officials, the following flags
are flying at area beaches:

Walton........................YELLOW
Bay...........................YELLOW
State Park Gulf Beaches.......RED
West Facing Gulf Beaches......RED
South Facing Gulf Beaches.....YELLOW
