Surf Zone Forecast
National Weather Service Tallahassee FL
142 AM EDT Sat Jul 5 2025

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

The rip current risk will be in the moderate level this weekend into
early next week. By Tuesday and Wednesday, portions of the Emerald
Coast and Saint Joseph Peninsula are forecast to get into the upper
end of the moderate risk, with a low probability of a high risk at
this time. One of the contributing factors will be high to low tide
variations near maximums. Otherwise, the main weather concern at the
beaches will be chances for thunderstorms each day, with a potential
for frequent lightning and sudden, gusty winds. Looking ahead, the
pattern may be become favorable for a bonafide high rip current risk
late next week into the following weekend.
