...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin County Beaches.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
  from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Early this morning, the buoy located about
  90 miles south-southeast of Apalachicola was observing 4-foot
  seas with a mean wave direction from the south-southeast. So it
  should be a rough day in the water as these waves reach Emerald
  Coast and Forgotten Coast beaches today. Some improvement is
  expected on Wednesday, though there could still be a lingering
  high risk on some beaches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
