.DISCUSSION...
Generally calm weather through this afternoon leads into more
active weather tonight through Friday as a weather system impacts
the region. Precipitation onset near the burn site is expected to
between 8 and 10 pm tonight, becoming more widespread overnight.
Given cold temperatures expected into Thursday morning, a mix of
rain and snow showers will be possible. While snow accumulations
are expected to remain light, some 15-20% chance of snowfall up to
1" is possible near the burn site. Otherwise, liquid
precipitation totals of 2 to 3 inches are anticipated across
northern Shasta County through the duration of this storm (Friday
evening). Winds look to remain breezy and predominantly from a
northerly direction, although as a front passes through around
midday Thursday, a brief period of variable to south-southeast
winds will be possible.
