LOW HUMIDITY AND BREEZY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS; ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORM CHANCES IN THE MOUNTAINS SOUTH OF I-80 THROUGH THIS
EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...
Tropical moisture continues to move through portions of the
Sacramento Valley and Sierra this afternoon, bringing mainly light
showers to areas south of I-80. Activity expected to continue
through the afternoon and evening, with an isolated thunderstorm
chance remaining in the forecast through this evening for higher
elevations south of I-80. Portions of the northern Sacramento
Valley, northeast Foothills, and Burney Basin will remain
relatively dry with locally breezy south to southwest winds
through the afternoon, leading to elevated fire weather conditions
continuing for the rest of the day. Lingering showers tomorrow
mainly south of HWY-50 through the early morning, then drying
conditions expected with early-fall like temperatures.
