.SYNOPSIS...
Dry weather with breezy north to west winds this weekend ahead of
a wet, cold system bringing widespread rainfall and the season`s
first measurable snowfall to the mountains, though exact amounts
and timing are still uncertain.

.KEY MESSAGES...

* TODAY - SUNDAY:

 - Briefly drier conditions into Sunday before the next system
   arrives early next week with breezy north to west winds up to
   15-25 MPH this afternoon then again late early Sunday morning.

* MONDAY - WEDNESDAY:

 - A colder, wet system arrives early next week, bringing
   widespread rainfall and the season`s first measurable mountain
   snowfall through Wednesday evening.

 - Exact timing and amounts are still uncertain for this system,
   but a Winter Storm Watch has been issued from Monday morning to
   Wednesday evening for the Sierra south of I-80 and above 6500
   ft. Moderate travel impacts are expected south of HWY 50 and
   above 6500 feet with travel delays and slippery conditions
   expected over much of the Sierra.

 - Rain for the Valley/foothills is expected to begin Monday
   morning with heaviest rainfall rate later that afternoon and
   evening before transitioning to lighter, scattered showers on
   Tuesday.

 - 10-20% chance of thunderstorms Monday evening into Tuesday
   morning as well, as the system begins to move onshore.

.AVIATION...

North to west winds expected with gusts up to 15-25 kts across
the Sacramento Valley through 18z Sunday with strongest winds from
09z to 18z Sun. Light west winds over the mountains, shifting to
the east after 06z Sunday with gusts up to 15 kts until 18z Sun.
