Warm and dry conditions today with unsettled weather developing later this week bringing cooler temps, wetting rains, and breezy winds. && .KEY MESSAGES... * TODAY - WEDNESDAY: - Dry conditions and seasonal temperatures prevail through mid- week with Valley high temperatures in the 80s today and Wednesday, warmest today - Breezy onshore flow returns on Wednesday afternoon into Friday with periods of gusts up to 15-25 kts but no significant impacts expected. * THURSDAY-SUNDAY - Clusters and ensembles depict an upper low approaching the region late next week which will bring light precipitation and cooler temperatures, with periods of rain forecasted Thursday night - Early Saturday morning - Minimal precipitation impacts, with best chances over the northern Sacramento Valley, foothills, and mountains. NBM is currently advertising a 40-70% chance of precipitation amounts 0.50" or more over northern Sacramento Valley and mountain areas north of Interstate 80 and 5-15% chance of thunder near Lassen NP and across Shasta County. - Non-zero chances for light, high elevation mountain snow, though little if any impacts are expected and confidence is low. - Temperatures will trend cooler late week into next weekend, with Valley high temperatures in the 70s. Periods of breezy onshore winds are anticipated as well. .AVIATION... VFR conditions next 24 hours. Weakening northerly to easterly winds across the northern Sac Valley and mountains becoming light winds near 01z Wed.
