...Heavy snow over the Sierra Nevada Mountains on Monday...

...Lake effect snow downwind from Lakes Erie and Ontario on
Monday...

...Upslope snow over the Northeast on Monday...

Developing upper-level low along the California Coast moves
southward to Northwestern Mexico by Wednesday. The system will
produce rain along the West Coast and embedded thunderstorms over
Central California, mainly through early Tuesday morning. Heavy
snow will develop over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, mostly on
Monday. Rain and higher-elevation light snow are expected to
generate over parts of the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday morning,
tapering off by Wednesday. Overnight on Monday, showers and
thunderstorms, along with high-elevation snow, will develop over
parts of the Southwest, continuing through Wednesday morning.

Low pressure over the Central Rockies will move eastward to the
southern Ohio Valley by Tuesday night into Wednesday. The system
will produce higher-elevation snow and lower-elevation rain over
parts of the Great Basin/Central Rockies from Monday into late
Monday night. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop
over parts of the Northern/Central Plains, expanding into the
Middle/Lower Mississippi Valley by Monday evening. By Tuesday
morning, light snow will develop along the northern edge of the
precipitation shield over parts of the Upper Mississippi
Valley/Great Lakes into parts of the Ohio Valley. Rain and a few
embedded thunderstorms will develop over parts of the Ohio Valley
on Tuesday, tapering off by Wednesday. In addition, rain will move
into the Central Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday
afternoon, continuing into Wednesday.

Elsewhere, an upper-level low over the Northeast will aid in
producing lake-effect snow downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario,
which is expected to end overnight on Monday. Snow will develop
over parts of northeastern New York State and the Northeastern
Mountains, slowly tapering off overnight Tuesday. Furthermore,
onshore flow will aid in producing scattered showers over
southeast-central Florida overnight Monday into Wednesday.
