Snow reinvigorates in the late evening, with heaviest snowfall rates expected Thursday night into early Friday morning. - Snow levels will increase through the day Thursday, peaking around 8500 ft in the evening before dropping to around 7000 ft early Friday morning. Total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch, particularly for Utah`s West Desert from the Salt Flats to the Nevada border. Additional freezing rain accumulations great than a hundredth of an inch is expected on the north end of the Tooele Valley along the I-80 corridor. * WHERE...Great Salt Lake Desert and Mountains and Tooele and Rush Valleys. * WHEN...Until 11 AM MST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Winter driving conditions are expected. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The greatest impacts and highest confidence for freezing rain are expected across the West Desert during the morning hours, however, there is some potential periods (15-30% chance) freezing rain lingers into the afternoon. Additionally, there is upwards of a 30 to 40 percent chance of freezing rain accumulations outside of the advisory area, particularly along the northern Wasatch Front west of the I-15 corridor.
