...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of east central Weber,
Salt Lake, central Davis, southwestern Morgan, northwestern Utah and
southeastern Tooele Counties through 645 PM MDT
...

At 559 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 12 miles northwest of Salt Lake City
International Airport to near Vernon. Movement was northeast at 25
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Sandy, Layton, Murray, Bountiful,
Tooele, Farmington, Grantsville, Morgan, West Jordan, Taylorsville,
South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Riverton, Cottonwood Heights, Midvale,
Kaysville, and Holladay.

This storm will be capable of producing strong gusty winds on the
Great Salt Lake. This will lead to a sudden increase in waves and
very choppy waters which will result in hazardous boating conditions.
Boaters are urged to seek safe harbor if possible.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 15 between mile markers 281 and 331.
 Interstate 84 between mile markers 93 and 103.
 Interstate 80 in Utah between mile markers 90 and 130.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
