518 FNUS75 KSLC 031315 SMFSLC Smoke Management Forecast National Weather Service Salt Lake City Utah 714 AM MDT Fri Oct 3 2025......Mahan .DISCUSSION...Southerly transport winds will increase ahead of an approaching storm system and cold front resulting in increasing mixing heights and excellent clearing on Friday and Saturday. This cold front will bring widespread precipitation for northern Utah late Friday and persist through Saturday with most locations across this area receiving wetting rains. A much cooler airmass will settle in behind this front along with weak transport winds aloft resulting in reduced mixing and good/poor clearing values. Values gradually improve further south.
