465 FNUS75 KSLC 050938 SMFSLC Smoke Management Forecast National Weather Service Salt Lake City Utah 338 AM MDT Mon May 5 2025......Seaman .DISCUSSION...A slow moving low pressure system will bring widespread precipitation to the region today, boosting the Clearing Index to 1000+. This low will begin moving away from the area Tuesday, with a more stable airmass settling over the area. This will limit mixing, and keep the Clearing Index near 500 across many air sheds which don`t receive precipitation. By Wednesday mixing heights will increase somewhat, however with a decrease in winds Clearing Index will again be somewhat limited, particularly across western Utah. Deeper mixing is expected Thursday into Friday as the airmass warms.
