...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING
FOR DRY THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 488, 493, 495, 496, AND 497...

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 488 Manti National Forest,
Fire Weather Zone 493 Central Utah Mountains, Fire Weather

Color Country Mountains and Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave
  Desert.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms will continue through
the afternoon, decreasing in coverage through the evening.
These storms will be a mix of dry and wet, but exceptionally dry
fuels in the area will allow for favorable conditions for
  lightning ignitions.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and erratic outflow winds up to 40-50
mph are expected, with a 10 percent chance of exceeding 55 mph.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected. New
fire starts are possible from lightning, and gusty outflow
winds in the vicinity of new and existing fires may lead to
  rapid fire spread.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of
lightning...dry fuel conditions...and gusty microburst winds will
create favorable conditions for new fire starts and extreme fire
behavior.
