.DISCUSSION...Chances for heavy rain and flash flooding are much
lower today, however given recent rainfall this week, low-level
moisture still in place may produce low chances for slow-moving
showers and thunderstorms over higher terrain and the burn scar
this afternoon. These storms will initiate as early as 1200,
likely weakening after 1700 or so. A reasonable worst-case
scenario this afternoon is up to 0.25 inch/hr rainfall rates (10%
chance of rates exceeding this value). Thus, chances for flash
flooding today are low.

As the air mass continues to dry, precipitation chances will
further decrease heading into tomorrow (Sunday). An increased risk
of flash flooding could return as early as Wednesday, though
forecast confidence is still low at this time.
