.DISCUSSION...Hot and mostly dry conditions are expected over the
fire area today as conditions begin to dry out over the weekend.
As such, there is a very low chance (around 10%) for showers or
thunderstorms over the fire area today. Humidity is expected to
drop by 3 to 5 percent as compared to Friday, with only isolated
cloud cover expected in the afternoon. With hot temperatures and
very little shading, heat related illness will become more likely.
Aside from the hot and dry conditions, winds will transition from
terrain driven early in the morning to a broad southwest wind
after 1000-1100, with speeds around 6-10 mph and gusts up to 15-20
mph. Southwest winds will return to light downslope flows after
sun down and will prevail through the overnight period.
